Phosphorescence’ comprises of four images that formed as a conceptual response to the family history research Jazz undertook whilst at Backlit Gallery on his six-month artist residency. The images bring a moment of abyss and a sense of the sublime as the reds seep into a phosphorescence like light and the deep black shifts throughout to form amorphous objects and gestural momentum.
