Jazz is a British artist-photographer exploring queer representation, race and identity. His practice is informed by critical research, (generational) memory and his mixed Indian-British experience. His work is often realised through composed and imagined narratives using installation and imagery. Graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a BA Hons in Photography, he further developed his practice on an Artist Residency with Backlit Gallery (2019). Continuing to work with Backlit, Jazz undertook an Equality & Diversity Researcher position that concentrated on art culture diversity, inclusion and equal opportunity. Working with galleries, he creates projects that help to consider representation and visual activism in public spaces, and in 2019 had his first mini-solo exhibition showcasing a series of lgbtqueer portraits commissioned by Broadway Gallery.

He is a studio holder at Backlit Gallery and a studio member at NearNow Nottingham. In 2019, Jazz received the Genesis Imaging Portfolio Award and the New Art Exchange Central Gallery Award. Selected exhibiting galleries include: The New Art Exchange, Nottingham; Backlit Gallery, Nottingham; The Truman Gallery, London; Broadway Gallery, Nottingham; OFF Bratislava, Slovakia.
